Extras: Large variety of sailing conditions, from perfectly flat at the edges of the river to standing swells in the middle.
Not for the beginner, you can get into real trouble on the river, the current is around 10 knots and it's a long swim back from the middle. This launch can be gusty, especially on a southwest wind
to get there:
From Buffalo, take theI-190 north to Grand Island. Take the second exit on the island (marked Beaver Island State Park).Follow South Pkwy about 1/2 mile to Fix Rd, Turn Right onto Fix Rd. Proceed to the end and the River.

Comments and news about this site: Apart from the strong current and gusty conditions, this is a really nice place to sail, with a large grassy area for rigging and picnics.
